Niklas Wiik, professionally known as Reginald, is a talented electronic musician, producer, and remix artist hailing in Berlin, Germany. He initially made his mark in the scene under his previous pseudonym, NiQW, and released several successful tracks with well-known labels such as Toolroom, Dirtybird, and Night Bass. After several years as NiQW, he released his first EP as Reginald in 2020 on My Techno Weighs A Ton.
In 2022, Reginald released his career-changing debut album ‘Why Can’t We All Be Friends’, which featured collaborations with a global range of artists including Wongo, Steve Darko, Danny Goliger and GetCosy, to name but a few.
Reginald’s versatility and range as an artist is evident in his diverse body of work, which covers various styles including heavy pounding techno, bass-driven tech house, breaks, garage, and electro. He describes his sound as “addictively groovy, seriously not so serious with beautiful moments of relief and respectfully energetic.” He draws inspiration from the UK’s garage scene, Chicago club style, Detroit electro, Berlin techno, and old school breaks, as he believes that “sound is limitless, so why should anyone keep it simple?”
Reginald’s DJing skills have also made a significant impact in the electronic music scene. With his impeccable mixing technique and diverse musical taste, he has established himself as a sought-after DJ. He has left a lasting impression on audiences with his electrifying performances, whether it’s at a festival setting, the 1000-capacity Sound Nightclub in Los Angeles or at a 100-capacity underground basement party in Helsinki. This is why Reginald makes an army of new fans after every set he plays.
